Now that I'm settled back into Volition it's time to get to work again, this time messing with particles! The game is functionally the same as the previous build, but I'm going to start figuring out more of a look graphically for the game. I'm definitely leaning toward a minimalist graphic look, but I will be evaluating that as I learn more about particles and such. Which is what this is all about! Not everything has particles yet since I pretty much just started delving into it, enemy shots are now particle based and the beam enemy also has a small particle indication that it's invulnerable. We'll see how this effects performance, but it shouldn't really be too bad since there's no additional lighting (yet). Looking forward to building a campaign out of this, the endless high score mode should remain as a mode, but I'd like more of a sense of progression and more deliberate enemy placement. Ideally this will help with designing enemies and enemy movement as well, so stay tuned for that. Till then, thanks for checking it out!
